- 17 lines per page. Written in medium large naskh in black ink with use of red. Soft glazed light cream paper with laid and chain lines visible. Fol. 22 is a later replacement on European paper with watermark. Marginal annotations. Catchword on the verso of each leaf. Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the upper cover: "Dimashq 9".
- Copy completed on Tuesday 12 Rajab 847 [Nov. 5, 1443] by ʻAbd Allāh ibn Ismāʻīl al-Khaṭīb al-Ḥanbalī al-ʻIrāqī (colophon, fol. 257b).
- Ijāzah for the copyist (whose name is given in full as al-shaykh al-fāḍil Jamāl al-Dīn Abū Muḥammad ʻAbd Allāh al-Ajmī(?) thumma al-Baghdādī, nazīl Ḥalab al-Ḥanbalī), from Aḥmad ibn Ibrāhīm ... al-Shāfiʻī Sibṭ ibn al-ʻAjamī, dated 7 Muḥarram 848 (fol. 258a).

- Brown leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers. Worn out central blind stamped mandorla with outer frame consisting of fillets. Re-used paper pastedowns. Traces of a leather doublure on fol. 258b. Damaged. Rebacked.
