A biography of Abū ʻAlī Muḥammad ibn ʻAlī ibn Muḥammad al-Shawkānī. The work comprises three divisions: (1) the birth of al-Shawkānī, his characteristics and virtues, (2) his education and the shaykhs under whom he studied, (3) his students and their works.
