Title from title page in red ink (fol. 2a).

Physical description: 13 lines per page. Written in medium large naskh in black ink with use of red. Dark cream paper, with pulp, fiber, and a few lines visible. Ḥāshiyah on the margin, attributed to Asnawī (Isnawī), ʻIraqī, etc. Several short excerpts on fol. 1a-2a. Corrosive ink.

Inscription in Roman script on a label pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover: "A 251e".

Origin: According to colophon, copy completed on Tuesday, 8 Shawwāl 749 [Dec. 30, 1348] (fol. 54b).

Incipit: بسم ... رب تمم تقدس من تمجّد بالعظمة والجلال وتنزه من تفرد بالقدم والكمال ... وبعد فان اولى ما يهم به الهمم العوالى ويصرف فيه الايام والليالى تعلم المعالم الدينية والكشف عن حقايق الملة الحنيفية

Explicit: انما يجوز فى الفروع وقد اختلف فى الاصول ولنا فيه نظر وليكن هذا اخر كلامنا والله الموفق والهادى والحمد لله اولا واخرا وظاهرا وباطنا والصلوة على محمد واله متواصلا متقارنا تم الكتاب

Binding Note

Brown leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers. Both covers have a blind stamp central mandorla with two pendants on the vertical axis (lightly stamped). Modern paper pastedown and free endpaper.
