Layout: 15 lines per page ; frame-ruled in red and gold.
Description: Rubricated ; vowel signs ; watermarks (lion in a circle topped by a crown with lettering "concordia res paruae crescunt"; roman-alphabet letters "VdL" ) ; MS in very good condition.
Decoration: Opening, middle and closing spreads written within wide borders elaborately decorated with yellow, red and black (fol. 1b-2a, 174b-174a, and 357b-358a).). Sūrat al-Ikhlāṣ written in tapered colophon shape and framed below with simlar elaborate decoration (fol. 357a). Verses separated by yellow or red circles.
Contemporaneous? type II (with flap) binding in red leather. Gold-stamped mandorla with pendants and cornerpieces and gold-tooled decorative edging on covers. Similar decoration on flap and flap fore-edge. Red floral cloth pastedowns and flyleaf. Multi-colored endbands.
Origin: Probably from the early part of the XIXth century.
