Item Summary

Deed of sale transferring land near Chemax, Yucatàn from Manuel Antonio Degado to Santiago Chan. This document also records previous sales of the property called "Siteuuc," located one league north of Chemax. The property was previously called "pic cuuc" (Nov. 1782). The titles of "batab" and "almehen" are frequently used. There are 3 separate numbering systems, one in contemporary brown ink (f. 1-8), one in modern pencil (f. 25-40), and one in modern red pencil (f. 34, 34/2-34/7). Pages 1-9 are in Spanish; p. 10-13 are in Mayan-Yucatec; p. 14-16 are in Spanish.
