5 – Ghazal Ranjkesh, a law student from Bandar Abbas, a city in southern Iran, was among the protesters who suffered injuries at the hands of security forces during the 2022 demonstrations sparked by the police’s killing of Mahsa Jina Amini. On November 15, 2022, while returning home from work, she was shot in the eye by security forces. The incident resulted in the damage of her retina and the loss of her sight in her right eye, and she had to undergo surgery to remove the pellets and repair her eyelid. Furthermore, her face suffered significant damage due to the incident.
