Hang in there while we get back on track
“This Preliminary Assessment Report confirms the devastating human toll, with over a thousand lives lost, millions displaced, and unprecedented economic damages estimated at Rs 822 billion. These losses represent a national tragedy that has shattered lives and livelihoods across our most vulnerable provinces. “
“This disaster is a stark and painful manifestation of climate injustice. Pakistan, contributing less than one percent to global greenhouse gas emissions, continues to bear the disproportional brunt of global warming. Pakistan had never seen such a devastating example of global warming. Even today, huge swathes of the country are still underwater. It confirms our status as one of the world's most climate vulnerable nations, and obligates us to prioritize an aggressive, climate informed national recovery.”
