Selections from Arabic poetry in three divisions. The first contains 12 odes by Laqīṭ ibn Yaʻmur al-Iyādī, Qaʻnab ibn Umm-Ṣāḥib, Aʻshá Bāhilah, ḥātim ibn ʻAbd Allāh al-Ṭā'i, Bashāmah ibn ʻAmr, Namir bin Tawlab, al-Shanfará, Kaʻb ibn Saʻd al-Ghanawī, al-Mutalammis and Ṭarafah ibn al-ʻAbd ibn Sufyān. The second contains 25 odes of which 7 are by Zuhayr ibn Abī Sulmá, 6 by Bishr ibn Abī Khāzim and 12 by ʻAbīd ibn al-Abraṣ. The third contains 22 selections from the poems of al-ḥuṭayʼah and a few anecdotes of his life.
