Досі немає данних (перевірених і доведених) скільки було громадянських осіб, що загинули в наслідок нещадних обстрілів, та розстрілів серед мирного населення. Є тільки припущення що з 400 тисяч містян, змогли покунути дві третини. Скільки знищено і скільки там все ж ще є? Традиційно Маріуполь вважався зросійщеним містом, як і всі інші на Донеччині. Його особливість, що вдалося втримати від окупації з 2014 року. Тому він мав, статус культурної Мекки на Сході України."
