Collation: Paper ; fols. i + 188 ; modern foliation in pencil.
Layout: 16 long lines per page ; Arabic ruling board (mastara).
Description: Written by one scribe in modern (Chrysanthine) notation ; titles and initials are in carmine ; watermarks (A GALVANI with double eagle ; other unidentified).
Decoration: Restricted to two strips at the beginning of the two divisions of the text. They are drawn in the dark brown ink of the text and then partially filled in with carmine used for the titles and initials, with the addition of some green and yellow. The paper color is used as an integral part of the coloring scheme.
Origin: Possibly in Constantinople after 1814.
Binding Note
Contemporaneous? binding. Islamic in style, 19th century, with dark goatskin over paper pasteboard ; dark green linen spine lining and end bands covered in red and teal silk thread. Both the front and back covers have a center mandorla in a field of rosette stamps of two sizes surrounded by fillets ruled by parallel to the edges.
