Provenance
Princeton MS. 115 is of unknown early provenance. The manuscript was annotated in various hands dating from the 14th and 15th centuries. On the front second flyleaf is a 19th-century owner's signature “W. Greenwell,” possibly William Greenwell (1820-1918), an English historian and archaeologist, who became librarian to the Dean and Chapter of Durham Cathedral in 1862. In 1952, Prof. Alfred Lucien Foulet (1900-1987), of Nasonga Farm, Princeton, Class of 1927, purchased the manuscript from the antiquarian bookdealer William Salloch, then in New York City (Catalogue 100, no. 663). Foulet's gift to Princeton University Library in August 1976 (Acc. no. AM 21859).

Decoration: Comprised of 2-line initials in red, dark red, and blue for major divisions of text; 2-line initials in dark red and light green for major divisions of text in quires 3 and 4, and most of quire 6 (fols. 62v-65r, 72v-77r).
Binding Note
England, late 19th or early 20th century. Brown morocco over pasteboard. Textblock sewn on 5 raised bands; gilt edges; endbands with secondary sewing in red, brown, and yellow. Spine title: “biblia metrificata.”
