- Depiction: A clerical-looking gentleman is thrown into consternation at the interesting condition of a rustic female, who is standing beneath a board announcing "Man-traps laid in these grounds." The head of a black footman peering through a hole in the garden-wall indicates the true source of the "Black Joke".
