Layout: 35 lines per page in two columns (parchment pages) ; 38 long lines per page (paper pages)
Description: Paper pages inserted (fol. 21-39 and 103-104) ; folio 140 written on parchment in a different hand.
Decoration: Parchment pages have 5- to 8-line initial in red and blue with foliate embellishments at beginning of main sections and 3- to 4-line initials alternating blue and red for lesser sections.
Origin: Written in England, circa 1200, on vellum, with some paper leaves added in the 16th century.
Binding Note
Later binding.19th century. Tooled half-calf binding with marbled boards.
