The Glory Hill series, created through Google Street View, captures monumental war memorials inscribed into the natural landscape. Across the post-Soviet region, such sites function as enduring markers of collective memory and instruments of ideological narrative. By employing a digital mapping technology typically associated with everyday navigation, the project reframes these memorials within a new visual and epistemic register. The distanced, non-human gaze of the Street View camera not only alters how these commemorative landscapes are perceived but also invites reflection on the ways digital mediation reshapes practices of remembrance.
