Item description: Prospect for a hold-to-light work, unperforated. This is one of three almost identical prints with different colors and the same subject. This print has colors that are more pale than the other two. Buildings are in green and pale pink. The statue is cream and pink.
Depiction: American Revolution scene. Following the printing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th, copies reached New York on July 10th. Soldiers and citizens gathered in Bowling Green to pull down the hated symbol of British rule, the statue of George the III.
Signed in plate, lower right: "Grave par Francois Xav Habermann".
