This curated selection of material was brought together to show how European alchemists built on Greco-Egyptian, Islamic, and late medieval foundations to create a golden age of alchemy from the 15th century to the time of Sir Isaac Newton.

As part of its commitment to democratize access to its most significant holdings, PUL endeavors to complete the digitization of its entire holdings of manuscripts from the Mediterranean world up to the year 1600. The geographical range of the manuscripts spans across all of Europe and includes Armenia and Egypt.
