Layout: 25-33 lines per page in two columns ; ruled.
Decoration: Includes 2 full-page miniatures; 42 half-page or column miniatures; 23 historiated initials; 24 calendar illustrations. Calendar pages, Introits, and Proper Prefaces have borders decorated with floriate ornament. In the calendar, vignettes of the occupations of the month are within the lower border and Zodiac medallions in the side margins; KL initials are decorated. Minor initials of 2- to 3-lines decorated with gold or 1- to 2-line champide initials. Full descriptions of miniatures are held in the Index of Christian Art, Princeton University.
Binding Note
Later binding. France, ca. 1800. Dark blue morocco over pasteboard; gold tooling along perimeter, board edges, and turn-ins; red silk pastedowns and endleaves; endbands ; edges gilt. Repaired in 1991 at the Conservation Center, Philadelphia.
