2 – Majidreza Rahnavard, a 23-year-old Iranian citizen, was publicly hanged on December 12, 2022, in Mashhad, in the Razavi Khorasan Province of Iran. He became the first person to face a public execution due to his involvement in the Woman, Life, Freedom protests. Rahnavard was charged with, convicted of, and sentenced to death for committing “Moharebeh”, meaning “waging war against God.”
