- Letterpress text begins: The above plate represents the lower deck of an African ship of 297 tons burthen, with the slaves stowed on it, in the proportion of not quite one to a ton. ..
- Issued by the Plymouth Committee of the Society for Effecting the Abolition of the Slave Trade in England.

- The broadside is divided in three pieces and pasted into an album. The album is about 300 pages and filled with contemporary newspaper clippings, prints, slipsong ballads, and occasional drawing or manuscript notes, ranging in date from the 1740s to the early 1800s.
