Provenance
Garrett Ms. 120 is of unknown early and intermediate provenance, although the commentary by Benedict of Aquileia would point to Ravenna. Robert Garrett (1875-1961), of Baltimore, Maryland, Class of 1897, purchased the manuscript on 25 April 1925 from the New York antiquarian bookseller Wilfrid M. Voynich (1865-1930). Garrett's gift to the Princeton University Library, 1942.

Title from printed catalog.
Script: Semi-textualis libraria, with cursive glossing script.
Decoration: Preface opens with an 11-line P, the tail of which extends the length of the text, in red with triangle-shaped wedges along the stem left unpainted; the whole surrounded with penwork flourishes in brown ink. Each of the four parts opens with 2-line unflourished red initial. Minor division marked with 1-line red initials.
