"Created in 2017 during the ongoing war with Russia, the image of the great martyr Mother of Ukraine reflects the weariness of Ukrainian society amidst continuous conflicts and concerns over the country's territorial integrity. This work has two creation dates: 2017 and 2022.
When the full-scale invasion began, marked by the famous phrase of the Snake Island border guard, the significance of the piece deepened. Snake Island (also known as Achilles Island), a long-disputed territory in the Black Sea, was the first target in the seizure of Ukrainian lands. The guard's defiant words, which resonated globally, became a symbol of Ukrainian resilience. The artwork was completed on the first day of the war, February 24, 2022. invincibility.
