- Provenance
- Garrett MS. 25 is probably from the “Second Vrbnik Missal” (Vrbnik, Parish Offices), written in 1462 (or between 1462 and 1506) in the diocese of Krk (Veglia) on the Dalmatian coast, in what is now Croatia. In this missal, the Canon of the Mass is on fols. 168-177. The 19 remaining miniatures include the washing of the disciples' feet, Resurrection, Ascen- sion, Pentecost, and Corpus Christi. But the Crucifixion miniature had been removed in the early 20th century, before Josep Vajs described the manuscript. Robert Garrett (1875-1961), of Baltimore, Maryland, Class of 1897, purchased the manuscript on 17 July 1925 from the London antiquarian bookseller Maggs Bros. Garrett's gift to the Princeton Univer- sity Library, 1942.
