Item description: In 1878, Henry Irving purchased the Lyceum Theatre and in 1888, revived his Macbeth in a freshly designed and directed production, with music by Arthur Sullivan. Costumes and props were designed by Charles Cattermole.
Signed in ink: "Produced at the Lyceum Theatre by Henry Irving Decr. [29th (in pencil)] 1888. Illustrated by Chas. Cattermole, R.I. and J. Bernard Partridge. Cassell and Co.".
