Something went wrong!

Hang in there while we get back on track

Strictures on the Philadelphia mischianza or triumph upon leaving America unconquered : with extracts, containing the principal part of a letter, published in the "American crisis" ; in order to shew how far the King's enemies think his general deserving of public honours. N.B. A flattering account of this mischianza was published in the Philadelphia Gazette, and copied into the Morning Post the 13th of July last; and a larger one by a still more flattering panegyrist, may be found in the Gentleman’s Magazine for August last.

Collection
Part of The Sid Lapidus '59 Collection on Liberty and the American Revolution
After nearly 60 years of collecting, Sid Lapidus ’59 has presented to the Library more than 2700 volumes representing the fruits of his enthusiasm. Broadly conceived, the collection charts the definition and re-definiton of rights and liberties endemic to Western political traditions. The main focus is texts and documents relating to the American Revolution, its run-up dating back to the Commonwealth men, and coming down to documents of the early Federal government.
