- Inscribed in plate: "Know ye that [New York City] Consistory of S.P.R.S. now duly and legally constituted and established on the 6th day of August A.D. 1806, knowing the illustrious qualities of Brother [Joseph Terry McCaddon], native of [Ohio], born the [31st] day of [January] A.D. [1859], resident at [New York City], and that he is an expert Master, Mason, and constituted and proclaimed Secret Master, Perfect Master, Intimate Secretary, Provost and Judge, Intendant of the Buildings, Knight Elect of Nine . . . Grand Elect Perfect and Sublime Master Mason . . . Prince of Jerusalem . . . admitted into the Areopagus . . ."
