Vvedenskiĭ was one of the great modern Russian absurdist writers, who was arrested along with Daniil Kharms during Stalin's political purges and died mysteriously in the gulag. His children's books were banned and confiscated and are now of great rarity. Only recently was he rehabilitated and his work for children put back into print.
