Irgun-published newspaper titled Herut ("Freedom"). The lead front-page article condemns the British for asking Itzhak Ben-Zvi, the president of the Jewish National Council, the main representative of the Jewish community during the British Mandate, to take action against the Irgun's "terrorist actions" against the British. The article argues that Ben-Zvi should have answered this request by condemning British policies and refusing to betray his fellow Jews. Ben-Zvi later became the second president of the State of Israel.
