21 lines per page. Written in medium small naskh in black ink with use of red. The text is framed within a gold, red and blue border. Illuminated headpiece (ʻunwān) in gold, blue and red on fol. 1b. Thin dark cream with pulp visible. Several inscriptions on fol. 390b. Foliation in black ink using Arabic numerals.
According to the colophon, the copy was completed on 21 Shawwāl 878 (colophon, fol. 390a).
Incipit: قال الشيخ الامام العالم ... جلال الدين ... الحمد لله الذي انزل علي عبده الكتاب تبصرة لاولي الالباب واودعه من فنون العلوم ... وبعد فان العلم بحر زخّار لا يدرك له من قرار
Explicit: واترك كلام الحاسدين وبغيهم هملا فبعد الموت يقطع الحسد وانا اتضرع الى الله جل جلاله وعز سلطانه كما من باتمام هذا الكتاب ان يتم النعمة بقبوله وان يجعلنا من السابقين الاولين من اتباع رسوله و ... وصلى الله على من لا نبى بعده وآله وصحبه وسلم
Binding Note
Green leather over pasteboards for upper and lower covers, fore-edge flap and envelope flap. Both covers have a central gold? tooled mandorla with two pendants on the vertical axis and a blind-tooled outer border. The envelope flap has a similar border with a smaller pattern on its point. Marbled paper pastedown and free endleaf. Red leather box with marbled paper pasted on upper and lower cover, and horizontal label on the upper flap, reading "al-Itqān fī ʻulūm al-Qurān lil-Imām al-Suyūṭī".
