Title from preamble (fol. 2a, l. 9).
31 lines per page. Written in medium small naskh with elements of taʻlīq in black ink with use of red. Thin biscuit paper with laid lines visible. Ḥāshiyah on the margins. The first leaf consists of a later page pasted on the recto of an original folio. Water damage. Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the upper cover: "Uṣūl thānī 14". Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover: "857/2 ḥāʼ".
Copy completed in Harāt in Jumādá al-Thānī 859 [May-June 1455] (colophon, fol. 219a).

Binding Note
Dark brown leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers. Both covers have a blind stamped mandorla with a floral motif with a scalloped border outlined in gold. Outer frame made of blind tooled and gold painted fillets and guilloche. Blue and cream marbled paper pastedowns. Rebacked.
