Paper: Thick light cream paper with regular laid lines and some chain lines visible.
Origin: Copy completed on Saturday, the last night ("salkh") of Jumādá al-Awwal 793 [May 6, 1391] by ʻAbd al-Salām ibn al-shaykh Aḥmad al-Shāfiʻī al-Niḥrīrī al-Rifāʻī (colophon, fol. 186b).
Incipit: خروج النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم الى الطايف وسنذكر السبب فى سمياتها بالطايف وان الدمون رجل.
Explicit: ولا خلاف بنا عن ملته انه ولي الطول والانعام وهو حسبنا ونعم الوكيل.
Binding Note
Later type II (with flap) binding in brown leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower cover. Deep sunk central stamped mandorla on both covers with an outer frame consisting of fillets. Yellow paper pastedowns. The lower cover is damaged.
