- Physical description: 19 lines per page. Written in medium small taʻlīq in black ink with use of red to overline the commented text. Light cream paper with laid and chain lines visible. Occasional marginal annotations, including excerpts from a Sharḥ al-ṭarīqah al-Muḥammadīyah (see fol. 19a). Waqf (see mention on the upper margin of fol. 2b). Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the upper cover: "2"(?). Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover: "Ḥāʼ 1355". Inscription in Arabic script in red pencil on fol. 1a: "Tafsīr 62".
- Collation: Paper, fol. 222 ; 1¹⁰ (-1, before fol. 1) 2-20¹⁰ 21-22⁸ 23⁸ (-1, after fol. 222) ; catchword on the verso of each leaf.
- Origin: Copy completed on Sunday 5 Muḥarram 895 [Nov. 29, 1489] in Bahnām(?), a village from Wādī ... (?) by Muḥammad ibn ʻUthmān (colophon, fol. 220b).

- Yellow paper over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers. Spine and edges in brown leather. faded red-dyed paper pastedowns.
