This item is of the type from which sections of the Koran were collected and compiled in the eighth century C.E. Items of this type continued in use in North Africa into this century.

The manuscript digitizations here are a fraction of the full Manuscripts of the Islamic World collections, housed in Special Collections in Princeton's Firestone Library.
