Fol. i-ii are a later addition on different paper and have a table of contents in black and red ink (fol. ib-iia).
Collation: Paper ; fol. iii + 346 + i ; catchwords ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals.
Layout: 25 lines per page ; frame-ruled in red.
Description: Rubricated ; dark cream wove paper.
Decoration: Illuminated headpiece in gold, blue, red and white (fol. [iii]b). Opening spread frame-ruled in gold and black (fol. [iii]b-1a).
Origin: Copied by ʻAbd al-Fattāḥ ibn al-Sayyid ʻAbd al-Razzāq, under the patronage of Muḥammad ʻĀrif Afandī, and completed on the 5th of Ramaḍān 1273 (1857) -- colophon (fol. 345b).
Incipit: الحمد لله الذي بذاته ثبتت الاعيان وبصفاته تفصلت الاكوان ... وبعد فيقول اسير الذنوب واناء النقايص والعيوب عبد الغنى النابلسى
Explicit: وعليه لنا تيسر شرح فيه ارخت صار شرح الفصوص وقد فرعنا منه بعد صلاة الجمعة بالجامع الاموي نهار الجمعة الخامس والعشرين من شعبان المبارك من شهور سنة ست وتسعين بعد الف قال هذا مصنفه العبد الفقير ... والله ولي التوفيق والهادي الي سواء الطريق تم
Binding Note
Later type II (with flap) binding in burgundy leather. A branch motif in gold ink and gold-tooled cornerpieces and decorative edging on covers. Similar decoration on flap. Pastedowns and lining to the envelope flap in light purple dyed paper. Lining to the fore edge flap in green fabric. Endbands.
