Author of main text is perhaps Zayn al-Dīn ʻAbd al-Raḥīm ibn ʻAbd al-Raḥmān al-Qāhirī al-ʻAbbāsī, 963 [1555/6], this work being an abridgment of his larger work Maʻāhid al-tanṣīṣ ʻalá shawāhid al-Talkhīṣ (see Ḥājjī Khalīfah, Kashf al-ẓunūn (1835-58), II, p. 411). Title appears on the lower edge.

- Contemporaneous? type II (with flap) binding in brown leather. Blind-stamped mandorla with gold painted outline. Gold-tooled and decorative rolled edging on covers. Similar decoration on flap. Brown paper pastedowns.
