Inscription "98" in Western numerals on a label pasted on the upper cover, repeated in red on the pastedown of the same cover (corresponding to Brill's catalog. See Houtsma, M. Th. Catalogue d'une collection de manuscrits arabes et turcs, no. 217).
Collation: Paper ; fol. ii + 295 + (1) ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals.
Layout: 23 lines per page ; frame-ruled in gold and black.
Description: Rubricated with use of green and red ; watermarks.
Decoration: Illuminated headpiece (ʻunwān) in gold and colours on fol. 1b, with basmalah. Fol. 1b-2a frame-ruled with two gold bands and multiple lines in black and red. Gold headings and circles on these opening folios.
Origin: Copy completed on 21 Rajab 1146 [Dec. 28, 1733] by Ismaʻīl ibn Walī al-Dīn (colophon, fol. 274b).
Incipit: الحمد لله المنفرد باسمه الاسمي المختص بالملك الاعز الاحمى ... [2أ] ... اما بعد اشرق الله قلبي وقلبك بانوار اليقين.
Explicit: ولا يردّ دعوة القاصدين ولا يصلح عمل المفسدين وهو حسبنا ونعم الوكيل وصلى الله على نبينه محمد خاتم النبيين وسلّم تسليماً كثيراً كمل الديوان المبارك.
Binding Note
Type II (with flap) binding in brown leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers. Gold-tooled and painted, with a central mandorla with two pendants on the vertical axis outlined in gold with radiating flecks, and an outer border consisting of fillets and a guilloche. Yellow paper pastedowns. Traces of a now wanting fore-edge flap. Upper cover badly damaged. Spine broken.
