20 lines per page. Inscription "445" in black ink using Western numerals on the upper cover (corresponds to Brill's catalog ; see Houtsma, M. Th. Catalogue d'une collection de manuscrits arabes et turcs, no. 524).
Collation: Paper, fol. 39 ; 1-3¹⁰ 4¹⁰ (-1, after fol. 39) + i (later added endleaf on European glazed paper with watermark, "Tre lune") ; catchword on the verso of each leaf.
Layout: 20 lines per page.
Description: Rubricated ; thick light cream paper with thick laid lines visible (vertical) ; MS in good condition, folio 1a defective.
Origin: Copy completed by ʻAlī ibn Ḥasan(?) ʻAlī al-Baḥṭīṭī(?) in the beginning (mustahall) of Dhū al-Qaʻdah 858 (colophon, fol. 39b).
Incipit: الحمد لله جاعل قلوب اوليا [--] معادن الحكم واسرارهم متنزلات فوايد النعم وروية اشخاصهم ... قال المولف رحمه الله اما بعد حمد الله عدد نعمايه والشكر له على توالي الاية ... فان كتابي الموضوع في صناعة الهواي المسمي بالمعونة لما كثر علمه
Explicit: وهذا الى ان تطرح الجملة الاخرة فيبقى الحرف الاخير فركب الحروف يكن الاسم المضمر والله اعلم في هذا القدر الذي اردته كفاية لمن عرفه ومن اراد التبحير في هذا الفن والوقوف على ما يس[--] العليل فعليه بالمعونة واللله اعلم فرغت من تسويدها مولفها الفقير الى [--] تعالى احمد بن الهايم يوم الجمعة الثامن والعشرين من شهر ربيع الاخر عام 792 بجوار المسجد الاقصى حامدا لله على نعمه ومصليا على نبيه محمد واله وصحبه وسلم
