Origin: Copy completed on 25 Rabīʻ al-Awwal 862 [Feb. 10, 1458] by ʻUmar ibn Khālid ibn Taqī al-Dīn Muḥammad ibn ʻAbd Allāh al-Ṭaḥāwī al-Shāfiʻī (colophon, fol. 77b).
Incipit: قال سيدنا الشيخ الامام العالم العامل جامع اشتات الفضايل ... اول ما اقول اني احمد الله العلي الاكرم الذي علم بالقلم علم الانسان ما لم يعلم ثم اتبع ذلك بالصلاة ... وبعد فهذا كتاب شرحت به مختصري المسمى بشذور الذهب في معرفة كلام العرب تممت به شواهده ... قلت الكلمة قول مفرد واقولُ في الكلمة ثلاث لغات ولها معنيان.
Explicit: ان يجعل ذلك لوجهه الكريم مصروفا وعلى النفع به موقوفا وان يغفر لي خطيتي يوم الدين ... وغلى افضل المخلوقين سيدنا محمد خاتم النبيين وعلى اله وصحبه اجمعين وحسبنا الله ونعم الوكيل والحمد له اولا واخرا.
Binding Note
Type III (without flap) binding in brown leather. Blind-stamped mandorla and blind-tooled edging. Paper pastedown with inscriptions. Damaged.
