Item Summary

A personal collection of numerous short texts and excerpts from texts on a variety of subjects of religious nature, compiled by Mustafa ibn Asim, known as Mizanî-zade Nakşibendi Müceddidî Âmidî -- see fol. 87a (the name is also on fol. 1a, but blackenned). In addition to treatises and excerpts on precepts of Islamic belief, poetry, and grammar, the collection also contains some notes in philosophy, medicine and medical prescriptions. Fols. 18b-30b contain a treatise on religious precepts in verse by İshak Efendi.

The written area of most pages which are filled is almost entire page, as there are numerous marginal additions to all of the texts. Many pages throughout the ms. are left blank. Inserts.
Collation: Paper ; fol. 139 ; catchwords present only for longer texts ; foliation in red ink using Hindu-Arabic numerals ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals.
Layout: Number of lines varies considerably ; some folios frame-ruled in red.
Description: Most of the MS is written in a similar hand in a small script which at times changes to nastaʻlīq, in black ink with use of red
Origin: According to the note on fol. 1a, following the title and table of contents, the compilation was completed on the first of Jumādá al-Ākhirah 1238 (1823). This note is followed by a statement of ownership in the name of the compiler (partially obliterated with black ink). However, one of the texts in the compilation has a colophon dated 20 of Dhū al-Qaʻdah 1240, which is 1825 -- fol. 87a.

Binding Note
