A commentary on the authorʼs own treatise on the bases of jurisprudence entitled Miʻyār al-ʻuqūl fī ʻilm al-uṣūl. This in turn is a section of the introduction to al-Baḥr al-zākhir fī al-furūʻ, a full exposition of Zaydi law by the author. Text is on fol. 2b-215b; fol. 216a-217b contain quotations and poetry.

- Physical description: 29 lines per page; written in naskhi in black ink on cream European glazed, laid paper. Original text in red; entries in large script. Catchwords and a few marginal notes. First leaf and last four leaves damaged by insects. Numbered 2-217 in pencil in western numerals. Record follows erroneous numbering.
- Origin: Copy completed Ṣafar 1056 H. [March or April 1646] by Aḥmad ibn ʻAbd Allāh ibn Ḥabash (fol. 215b).
