Item Summary

An account of the siege of Acre by Napoleon and his subsequent defeat, eulogizing at the same time Aḥmad Pāshā [al-Jazzār] 1132-1219 [1719/20-1804/5], the governor of Acre. The author refers to Napoleon as "Bartī" (Bonaparte) and makes plays on the words. Reference is also made to Gaza and the siding of its inhabitants with Napoleon.
