Marginal notes. On two folios before the title page occurs a table of contents. Obscured signature and seal impression on title page. In original colophon the author states that he completed the work 1250 [1834].
Collation: Paper ; fol. (2) + 454 + (2) ; catchwords ; quires signed: 1-46 ; foliation in ink using Hindu-Arabic numerals ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals.
Layout: 25 lines per page.
Description: Watermarks (shield with a face-in-the-moon, roman-alphabet letters "VG" ; MS in excellent condition.
Origin: According to colophon copied Tuesday 14 Jumādá II 1270 by Ibrāhīm al-Jīzāwī al-Misāwī/al-Minyāwī[?] (fol. ).
Incipit: بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم وبه نستعين. نحمدك اللهم يا من تفضل على من نحا نحوه
Colophon: وقد وافق الفراغ من نسخلها قبيل الظهر يوم الثلثا الرابع عشر من جماد الثاني سنة 1270 الف ومائتين وسبعين على يد الفقير الى الله تعالى ابراهيم الجيزاوي المنياوي غفر الله ذنوبه وستر عيوبه وصلى الله على سيدنا محمد وصحبه وسلم تسليما کثيرًا دائما الى يوم الدين
Binding Note
Contemporaneous? type II (with flap) binding in red leather. Blind-stamped mandorla with pendants and corner motifs and blind-tooled decorative edging on covers. Similar decoration on flap and spine. Yellow paper pastedowns. In case (235 x 170 mm.) of red leather and marbled paper with leather pull strap. Quires never sewn.
