Four carte-de-visite photographs: the first depicting the bust of a dark-haired woman in partial profile with "J. P. Ball 30 W. 4th St." embossed below the photograph and which has been identified on the back in pencil "Anna McClelland, Covington, Ky. July 5th 1863"; the second depicting the bust of a dark-haired woman in partial profile with "J. P. Ball 30 W. 4th St." embossed below the photograph; the third a three-quarter portrait of a seated woman in a striped dress with "Ball & Thomas Photographic Art Gallery, 120 W. Fourth St., near Race, Cincinnati, O." stamped on the back; and the fourth depicting a man in uniform standing with his right arm resting on a column and looking directly at the camera with "J. P. Ball 30 W. 4th St." stamped below the photograph.
