Column 3 contains verses by the Lyon merchant and money-changer François Garin (ca. 1413-ca. 1460), extracted from his La complainte de François Garin (1460).The vernacular French text is written in three columns on the recto only, with large letters decorated with cadels and Arabic numbers.
