On June 14, 2008, the villagers of Sosny celebrated "Rusal Week" with traditional rituals honoring and bidding farewell to the Rusalki. The festivities included dressing a girl as a Rusalka and leading her in a ceremonial procession accompanied by songs and dances. The symbolic farewell involved sending her off to the fields or forest, followed by communal celebrations aimed at ensuring a plentiful harvest and protection from malevolent spirits.
