Irgun-published newspaper Herut (“Freedom”). The front-page article commemorates David Raziel, an Irgun commander who, after being imprisoned by the British, was released in 1941 to join a covert mission in Iraq targeting the country’s pro-Nazi regime. Raziel was killed in a German air raid while carrying out the mission.
