31 lines per page. Written in clear medium small naskh in black ink with use of red. Light cream paper with laid and chain lines visible. Table of contents by another hand on fol. 1a. Title on the lower edge of the text block: "al-Jild al-awwal min al-Dhakhīrah". Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the upper cover: "408/409". Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover: "260 ḥāʼ".
Copy of Juzʼ 1 completed on 1 Jumādá al-Ākhirah 946 by ʻAlī ibn Aḥmad ibn ʻUthmān ibn al-Ṣawā [or Saghā or Ṣafā](colophon Juzʼ 1, fol. 197a).
Incipit: الحمد لله مستحق ال[حم]د والثناء ومنزل اللطف والنعما كاشف الضرآ ... قال الصدر الامام ... قد جمعت انا حداية سني وعنفوان عمري
