Title from title page (fol. 1a).
Physical description: 21 to 24 lines per page. Written in medium small naskh in black ink with occasional use of red ; yāʾ for alif maqṣūrah. Thick European paper with watermark (Tre lune) ; glossy. Title on tail of text block. Short text on Iblīs on fol. 1a. The colophon is followed by a short saying attributed to Ibn Masʻūd (fol. 105a).
Collation: Paper, fol. i, 106, i ; i (free endpaper) 1-10¹⁰ 11⁶ i (free endpaper) ; catchword on the verso of each leaf ; the second quire is numbered using Arabic numerals (fol. 11a).
Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the upper cover: "Ḥadīth 10". Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover: "Ḥ 484".
Origin: According to colophon, copied by ʻAlī ibn al-marḥūm shaykh al-Islām al-shaykh ʻĀmir al-SHBRLWī(?) al-Shāfiʻī for himself, and completed in the middle of Ṣafar 1064 [April 1654] (fol. 105a).
Copyist: ʻAlī ibn ʻĀmir al-SHBRLWī(?) al-Shāfiʻī.
Incipit: بسم ... به نستعين الحمد لله جاعل الملايكة رسلا اولي اجنهة ... فهذا تاليف لطيف جمعته في اخبار الملايكة الابرار واستوعبت فيه ما وردت به الاحاديث والاثار

Binding Note
Brown leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers. Both covers are similarly stamped and tooled with a central scalloped mandorla with pendants on the vertical axis and an outer border consisting of fillets and a thin guilloche. Purlpe paper pastedowns and free endpaper. Rebacked.
